In this documentary for Sky Arts, Gary Kemp traces the story of Ronson and Bowie’s close bond and collaboration, along with Mick’s role as Ziggy’s sidekick, exemplified in the famous Top Of The Pops performance of Starman, where David puts an arm around Mick, a clarion call to Gary’s generation just as they hit adolescent sexual awakening. As Gary says, ‘I wanted to go to their planet’. Along the way Gary visits places Mick and David lived and work, talking to those who worked with them like Lulu and Mike Garson, alongside others influenced by Mick like Queen’s Roger Taylor and Suede’s Bernard Butler.
